Privacy & Terms
Last updated 2026-08-03. This is a plain description of how Rosterborn actually works today, not a substitute for legal advice.
What this is
Rosterborn is an independent, community-built application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sleeper, Blitz Studios, the NFL, or any NFL team. It is currently a preseason beta: features, statistics, and this page may all change before a public launch.
What data is read
League, roster, matchup, and player data comes from Sleeper’s public, read-only API — the same data anyone can already see by looking up a league on Sleeper. Rosterborn does not use Sleeper login or OAuth, and cannot see or change anything in a Sleeper account.
What is stored, and where
- Imported league data (seasons, rosters, weekly matchups) is cached on the server so pages load quickly. This is public Sleeper data, shared across everyone who plays in the same league — nothing here is private to one manager.
- Ownership verification (proving control of a Sleeper account by setting a one-time code in a team name) stores a short-lived code and, once verified, a record that a Sleeper user id was confirmed. No password or Sleeper credential is ever seen or stored.
- Basic product events — a verification starting, an import finishing, a Career Commander being viewed, a share button being used — are logged with a Sleeper username attached, so the product’s core loop can be measured during the beta. See “Analytics” below.
- Anything submitted through the feedback page is stored as written, with the Sleeper username if one was on the page when it was sent.
None of this is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything beyond running the product itself.
Analytics
Rosterborn logs a small, fixed set of product events — for example that an import started, or that a Career Commander reveal was viewed — to its own database. This is first-party and self-hosted: no analytics vendor is involved, nothing is sold or shared, and it is not used to build an advertising profile. It exists to answer one question during the beta: where do new managers get stuck.
What is stored in your browser
A claim token, in `localStorage`, once you verify a Sleeper account on a device — this is what lets that browser act for that account again later without reverifying. Clearing browser data clears it. Rosterborn does not set cookies and runs no advertising or third-party behavioral-tracking scripts of any kind — see “Analytics” below for the first-party product events it does log, and below that for the one third-party service in use, error monitoring.
Error monitoring
Rosterborn can report crashes and errors to Sentry so problems can actually be found and fixed during the beta. This captures error messages, stack traces, and the page they happened on — not your Sleeper data, and no session recording or performance tracking is enabled.
Accounts and email
There are no user accounts, logins, or email addresses in Fantasy Monster today. If that changes in a future version, this page will change with it before it ships.
No pay-to-win, no purchases
Nothing in Rosterborn can be bought. Every attribute, family, level, and battle outcome is computed from real Sleeper results — there is no mechanism to purchase an advantage, and monetization of any kind is on hold until a separate legal review is complete.
Use at your own risk
This is a beta. Statistics, achievements, and monster forms may be recalculated, retuned, or reset as formulas improve. Fantasy Monster is provided as-is, with no warranty, while it is under active development.
